Schools are closed for at least four weeks

Due to the increasing number of coronavirus infections, it was decided to close the schools in Belgium. In the first instance, the closure is for four weeks, of which two weeks are Easter holidays. The Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo speaks of an’Easter break’.

On Wednesday, he said The Croo at a press conference, “that is wondering how long this will hold,” and that, therefore, there are additional steps need to be taken, including the temporary closure of the school: “We have been in this method, during the term, and we have seen that it has helped make a difficult situation better under control.” Part of pre-school education remains open.
