In Belgium, both the number of infections and the number of hospitalisations and deaths are falling. Between 26 November and 2 December, an average of 2171 new infections were reported daily, some 13 percent less than the week before, according to the Sciensano Health Institute. The number of hospitalizations decreased by 22 percent over the same period to about 187 per day. The death toll averaged 113 per day, almost 21 percent less than a week earlier.
In Germany, the number of COVID-19 detected in the last 24 hours has fallen by a little under 6000 compared to the previous day. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the German match of the RIVM, reported 17,767 new cases on Sunday morning. There were 23,318 infections on Saturday.
