European Union to spend ten billion on the vaccine order alone

The European Union may have to pay more than EUR 10 billion for the hundreds of millions of COVID-19 doses of vaccine of Pharmaceuticals Pfizer and BioNTech. Reuters news agency reports from sources that the vaccine maker and the EU agreed on a price per dose of 15.50 euros.

The SARSv2 vaccine of the US Pfizer and the German BioNTtech, possibly already approved by US and European Medicine authorities by mid-December. The vaccine would be 95 percent effective in combating Covid-19.

A spokesman at the European Commission refused to go into details on terms and conditions. The pharmaceutical company also refused to respond.
