Finland’s Prime Minister Sanna Marin has visited the Ukrainian city of Irpin

Finland’s Prime Minister Sanna Marin came to Ukraine on a working visit and visited the hero city of Irpin. This time Ms. Marin saw the partially destroyed Irpin school. On the surviving sports ground, the guest played volleyball with young local champions, and after talked with local residents.

This is Sanna Marin’s second visit to Irpin city since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion. Earlier, she visited “Irpinski Lypky” destroyed by the war.

During the meeting with the residents of Irpin city, Sanna Marin noted that Finland has joined circle of countries that must ensure Russia’s responsibility for the crime of aggression against Ukraine, and supports the creation of the International center for the prosecution and persecution for crimes of aggression in The Hague.

“We support the peace formula of President Zelenskyi and want this plan to start working. Only lasting peace can give our family of European countries, the Euro-Atlantic family, peace and prosperity. We want Ukraine to join NATO as one of the union states of the Alliance,” Sanna Marin said.

In her words, Finland also supports the fight against corruption in Ukraine, so that it will be possible to move towards European integration, and is ready to provide all the necessary assistance.

“You are the symbol of courage, bravery and prospects for the better future Europe. However, Ukrainians still have many trials ahead. Today I spoke here with people who suffer not only from the external enemy, but also from the corrupt officials. I was told about the machinations of developers and insolent deputies. I am convinced that Ukrainian government should get rid of people like Pikulyk (one of the deputies of the local self-government of Irpin city – ed.). People deserve this,” – the head of the Finland’s government noted.

We will remind, earlier the President of Ukraine Zelenskyi and the Finland’s Prime Minister made a joint statement.
