Stock markets rest after an euphoric rally

The European stock exchanges showed little movement on Wednesday. Investors took a breather after the euphoria over Pfizer and Moderna’s coronavaccins. Concerns about the current second wave of virus infection and the short-term negative economic impact of the stricter COVID-19 quarantine measures controlled the financial markets.

The euro stood at $1.1882, compared to $1.1863 a day earlier. A barrel of American oil went up 1.1 percent at $41.89. Brent climbed 1.2 percent in price to $44.29 per barrel.
