Internal investigation at Brussels Airlines into extensive harassment

Brussels Airlines has opened an internal investigation after complaints reached the airline about harassment, bullying and transgressive behavior within a certain group of its personnel.

La Libre Belgique reported this on Thursday and the company confirms the investigation. The complaints are taken very seriously and there is a zero-tolerance policy against this type of behavior, it sounds. An interview with the employees who claim to be victims has already taken place and it turned out that the allegations were serious, on which it was decided to start a neutral and in-depth investigation, according to an internal note from Brussels Airlines that Belga had access to.

The research was entrusted to Lufthansa, the parent company of Brussels Airlines. That way, no person within the company can influence the investigation.
Temporary suspension

Brussels Airlines encourages its staff to report if they feel a victim of inappropriate behavior in the workplace. A procedure has been set up within the company under which the strictest confidentiality standards apply. The unions are aware.

In the conscious investigation reported by La Libre, the employees of this department have been temporarily relieved from their position. This was done in mutual consultation, to guarantee the neutrality of the research. But this temporary suspension is not a punitive measure, the management emphasizes. The necessary measures will be taken against the victims and the perpetrators. They do not want to give more comments, “until the investigation is completed”.
